I have used Glycolic products for many years. Can I use Glycolic products with GPA® products?
Yes you can, if you choose to. If you continue using a Glycolic night time exfoliating product along with GPA® Nighttime Serum Gel, it is recommended that you alternate days of use - one day GPA®, next day Glycolic. But the fact remains that this combination reduces the benefits of GPA® Nighttime Serum Gels. GPA® functions quite differently than Glycolic based exfoliating products (cleansers included). So the characteristic drying, irritation and sun-sensitivity typical of Glycolic Acid will remain, which is directly opposite to the moisturizing, non-irritating and non-sunsensitizing benefits of GPA®.
I have used Retin-A (Renova ) for a while now. Can I continue using these products with GPA® Gel?
Yes you can. Both products are Vitamin A (Retinoid) type products that function quite differently than Glycolics but do have the same characteristic drying and sun-sensitivity that affects the skin. With these products, it is recommended that you also alternate days of use. One day GPA®, next day Vitamin A (Retinoid). You may experience the same characteristic drying, irritation and sun-sensitivity though. You would need approximately a five day separation between products to ensure the elimination of sun-sensitivity.
My skin is always dry and I don't like using heavy moisturizers. Can GPA® help correct this?
Yes. GPA® can begin to help excessively dry skin although you will still need a light moisturizer and a good sunscreen if you're spending time outdoors. Although the GPA® night time serum Gels (1.0 , 2.0 and 3.0 ) exfoliate your skin, which tends to result in flaking and tightness, it produces a micro-peeling and thinning of the stratum corneum (top layer) which is quite refreshing. GPA® also moisturize in three beneficial ways - each below the surface layer of skin cells.
1) Underneath the surface skin cell layer, GPA® attracts water molecules by protecting the lipid barrier.
2) intercellularly (between skin cells) and
3) intracellularly (inside skin cells). This is achieved by strengthening each cell's outer membrane for resiliency during its 28 day lifespan. It is still highly recommended to use a topical moisturizer though. The lightest, non-occlusive moisturizers work best as they allow the skin to breathe and keep skin pores open.
I have oily skin. Very oily in certain ares and less oily to dry in other areas. Can GPA® correct this?
Yes. The GPA® serum compound balances all of your naturally occuring skin functions, including oil and sebum production - as well as evening out the tone and texture qualities of your skin.
I spend a lot of time outdoors. The products I use leave my skin very sensitive and red. I use sunscreen but my skin still has blotchy dark patches. Can GPA® correct these problems for me?
Yes. The GPA® serum compound is a nourishing, antioxidant rich skin product. GPA® does not react to UVA or UVB sunlight the way glycolic acid or Vitamin A products react by turning the skin bright red in direct sunlight, even after your sunscreen has faded. But you do have to reapply your sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays and you must still use sunscreen when outdoors. (Mechanical sunscreens that reflect UV wavelength light away from the skin like micronized Zinc or Titanium Dioxide last the longest.) The dark blotchy patches are caused by overexposure to sunlight. GPA® performs excellently for removing the blotchy dark patches (mottled hyperpigmentation) on the surface and within the deeper layers of your skin.
After my last pregnancy, my skin developed a hormonal mask that just will not go away. Can the GPA® product get rid of this and bring my skin back to normal?
Yes. Melasma (hyperpigmentation) is the end result of increased Melanin levels in the skin from hormones. GPA® lowers Melanin levels throughout your skin, evens out tone and texture qualities and accelerates the natural exfoliation process, bringing the darkened, discoloration cell layers to the surface. The skin cells that replace the discoloration layers are beautifully uniform in tone and texture qualities.
I have started having Restylane injections. (Juvederm ) (Perlane ) (Sculptra ) (Radiesse ) (Hylaform ) Can I continue using my GPA® night time serum Gel? Will the GPA® results that I enjoy stay the same?
Yes. You can continue using your GPA® night time serum Gel with all of these fine aesthetic products. The beautiful GPA® results that you enjoy will absolutely remain. Restylane (Juvederm ), (Perlane ), (Sculptra ), (Radiesse ), (Hylaform ) are cosmetic filler agents and most are made from or are a form of Hyaluronic Acid, which is a natural component of the skin. It is interesting to note that Hyaluronic Acid has been used for many years ( 25 +) inside the eye to support the Cornea during Cataract Surgery - allowing cataracts to be removed safely and quickly.
I have started having Botox treatments. Can I continue using my GPA® night time serum Gel? Will the results stay the same?
Yes. You can continue using your GPA® night time serum Gel after Botox treatments and all the great results you enjoy will remain.
